How to reach L’Aquila
The closest international airports are Fiumicino Airport (∼150 km) and Ciampino Airport (∼120 km).
Bus from Rome Fiumicino or Ciampino airport (Bus company: Gaspary Bus, Flixbus) takes around 2h and 30 min (from Fiumicino) 2h and 10 min (from Ciampino).
Bus from Rome Tiburtina railway station (Bus Company: TUA, Gaspary Bus, Flixbus) takes around 1h and 30 mi.
Train is not recommended.

Please note that September is high-season in L’Aquila, especially this year as the city celebrates its role as the Italian Capital of Culture 2026. Consequently, many cultural events are taking place throughout the city, and hotels are filling up very quickly. We strongly recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible.
